A special prayer request

I would like to ask a special prayer request for some dear friends of ours.  Above is a picture of Melvin Moran (9) in between my boys.  Two years ago doctors found he had a very aggressive type of brain cancer.  After fighting through 3 surgeries, chemotherapy and months of radiation, Melvin's cancer was gone!!  We rejoiced greatly at God's goodness and mercy.  Over the last year Melvin has grown tall and strong.  During this trial of fire, Melvins family rededicated their lives to God, and they began to place their faith in the Lord.  His mother told me how grateful she was that through all this she had grown closer to God.
This April at a bi-monthly scan, doctors found that his cancer had returned.  You can imagine his parents discouragement.  We were able to visit with them today for the first time in months.  They all seemed encouraged.  They said they felt God's presence very real to them and were at peace with the coming surgery next week. 
Please pray for Melvin this coming Thursday.  Doctors will remove the new tumor.  Pray that God would grant the doctors wisdom to treat Melvin.  Pray that God would give his family the grace, fortitude and faith that they need to endure this process again.

We are the Pape Family (Chad, Cynthia, Rebecca (11), Brian (10), Jonathan (9), and Steven (4) )  and we're on deputation to go to the Dominican Republic as missionaries.  It seems quite incredible and surreal to me at times that God would call US as missionaries!  I never dreamed God would ever want to use us like this.  It is an honor and a great priviledge to be able to serve our Lord on the foreign field. 

The last year has been full of adventures and craziness!  It was last July that we moved out of our 7 bedroom townhouse and into a 32 ft RV!  We've been traveling all over America ever since!!  As a child I always dreamed of the day when I would get to travel... never imaging that deputation would be the answer to those prayers!!

So far this year we've traveled to 26 states and 3 countries (Canada, Dominican Republic, and England).
Life on the road has been exciting!!  I never dreamed my life would ever be this thrilling!  Traveling, meeting new people, seeing new places,  and eating new foods!!!  And I get to enjoy ALL this with my family and in the center of God's Will!  Truly there is NO greater life, than a life completely surrendered to God.  My life is FAR from boring, or mundane!!  Serving God has been my life's greatest advenure!
